We will pedal the first 25 km along the coast to Albenga, then we will start discovering the inland with a gentle false flat. Upon reaching Coasco, the tough climb begins through pine forests and vineyards, leading us to Arnasco, a village surrounded by its perfectly maintained olive groves.
The route continues with a slight incline towards Vendone, where, in Castellaro, we will be surprised by the open-air museum featuring the steles of the Berlin sculptor Rainer Kriester. Passing through small hamlets, we reach Onzo, where a spectacular balcony overlooks the valley.
We then continue to Aquila d’Arroscia and descend through olive trees to Borghetto d’Arroscia, where the ancient medieval one-arched bridge over the stream below is worth admiring.
After passing Vessalico, known for its Slow Food-preserved garlic, a challenging 13 km climb takes us to Colle San Bartolomeo. After a short descent, we face the final tough climb leading to Passo del Ginestro. Surrounded by pines and oaks, we descend to Testico through fresh forests and continue towards Stellanello, riding among olive groves.
Returning to the Via Aurelia, we pass Capo Mimosa, marking the conclusion of our technical and cultural ride, featuring scenic climbs and gentle inclines.
